    Macktush is a 30-km drive from Port Alberni along Canal Main.

    We are a family friendly campsite and we want to create an environment where everyone can enjoy the Canada Day Long Weekend! This means any unruly behaviour, loud parties and large groups in the campsites will not be tolerated. Quiet time is 10 pm - 8am.

    Campers who can not abide by these rules and any others listed on the permit and on site, while be asked to leave. Campsite Rules

    • 1. Fireworks are NOT allowed anywhere on Timberwest property and violators will be evicted and possibly charged. Use of firearms is also prohibited. DO NOT BRING YOUR FIREARMS TO THE CAMPSITE.
    • 2. Consumption of alcohol and legal cannabis is restricted to the permit holder's campsite only. It is not permitted in common areas (shelters, beaches etc). Illicit drugs are not permitted.
    • 3. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times, including while in the permit holder's campsite. No exceptions!
    • 4. Overcrowding of individual campsites is not permitted: 2 vehicles or sleeping units for single sites and 4 vehicles/sleeping unites for doubles.

    A few other things to consider before you leave for the weekend:

    • Campsites accept only CASH.
    • Gate hours are 8 am - 8 pm.
      Anyone who needs to travel outside these times will need to park outside the gate.
    • NO POTABLE WATER ON SITE - please bring your own!

    As of May 15, 2019 Campfires are still allowed in the Coastal Region.

    Keep campfires small and ensure they are completely out before leaving them unattended.

Fishing

Off shore Fishing at any of our public beaches.

Boat motors are limited to 10 HP or less.

Hiking

Trail between Windy Point and Old Mill.


No smoking on trails, dogs must be leashed at all times.

Swimming

We have a beautiful public beach at Old Mill.

Most of the Lake side campsites have their own beaches.


Kayaking / Paddle Boarding / Canoeing

The lake is great for all types of paddeling.

​Booked campsites will be held for check-in until 3.00 pm the following day of the scheduled check-in date, after which the booking will be deemed cancelled upon no-show and the campsite is entitled to release the booked sites(s) for the remaining stay dates to other guests. No refunds will be provided for the cancelled booking.

You don't have to reserve a site, but we highly recommend it. Sites that are not reserved online are first come first serve.

Nanaimo Lakes area is private land and a working forest. Please stay in designated areas. Accessing areas behind gates is prohibited and hazardous.

All sites that are not reserved are first come first serve.
The Book Now page shows all current reservations, all other sites are first come first serve.
Reservations have to be made 3 days in advance.
You can have campfires in our designated firepits. Please check News and with your hosts for fireban updates.

You can purchase Firewood @ $6 / bin from your campsite host.

Cutting your own firewood is not allowed. There are designated firewood cutting areas that are clearly marked and require a permit. Camphosts do not sell firewood permits.

  • Yes, we are a pet friendly campsite. Your pets MUST BE LEASHED at all times, in your campsite, on the beach and on all roads.
    Please clean up after your pets.
    We charge $2/vehicle on weekends for the day, please bring cash. Overnight visitors will be charged $20/night.
